Share a villa in Bali: a whole home for less than a room each

Three or four people sharing a whole villa pay less each than they would for a one-bedroom in Canggu, and get a pool, a garden, a proper kitchen and a bedroom with its own bathroom each. At Core Villas a three-bedroom home from about USD 5,000 a month is roughly USD 1,667 each across three; a four-bedroom from about USD 6,000 is roughly USD 1,500 each across four. Friends taking a few months in Bali, a founder cohort, a coach with clients, a surf crew and two couples all rent this way, on one monthly tenancy agreement, from one month to a year.

The maths, plainly

A comfortable single month in Bali is widely put at around IDR 25 to 40 million all in, and a one-bedroom villa in Canggu is quoted at roughly IDR 12 to 18 million a month in 2026. Against that, the Core Villas rents shown on each home are indicative and set per lease: a three-bedroom from about USD 5,000 a month, a four-bedroom from about USD 6,000. Divide by the people sharing and a four-bedroom works out at about USD 1,500 each across four, with a private pool, a garden and en-suite bedrooms nobody has to share.

The figures above are indicative and computed from those rates; the lease sets the actual rent. But the shape does not change: a whole home shared is cheaper per person than a room each, and better.

Who shares well

Friends doing a few months in Bali together, budgeting per head. A small startup or founder cohort taking a base for a quarter, with the company on the invoice. A coach or retreat leader bringing two or three clients for a season. A surf crew for the dry season, with Pererenan's lefts and Seseh's heavier waves at the door. Two couples, or a family with visiting friends. What they have in common is that they already know each other; a villa is not the place to meet your housemates.

How one lease works for a group

One tenancy agreement, one household, one monthly rate. The group names its members; one person signs as the tenant and the others are listed as occupants, or the company signs for a team. The minimum stay is one month and the maximum a year at a time. This is a residence, not a holiday villa: no nightly pricing, no check-in desk, no daily housekeeping, which is exactly why it costs what it does. Maintenance, pool and gardens are handled by the on-site team.

Agree these five things before you arrive

Who has which bedroom, and whether the garden bungalow suite (its own bathroom, ground level, a little apart from the house) goes to the early riser or the light sleeper. How the rent and the bills split, and who pays the landlord. Quiet hours and guests, especially if some of you are working on other time zones. Who handles the household admin with the on-site team. And the exit: what happens if one of you leaves early. Ten minutes on a call before you book saves a month of friction.

Why the west coast for a shared house

Canggu has the cafes and the coworking and the noise. The west-coast villages of Pererenan, Seseh and Munggu are ten to fifteen minutes from all of it and quiet at night, which is what a house full of people working, surfing and sleeping on different schedules needs. Padel is about 6 minutes away, OMNI wellness about 3, the bakery about 4, the beach at the end of the lane. Core Villas is seventeen private-pool homes in one compound at Seseh, Munggu, with ten offered for monthly and long-term rent from Q3 2027. Questions

Is it cheaper to share a villa than to rent a one-bedroom each in Bali?

Yes. A Canggu one-bedroom is quoted at roughly IDR 12 to 18 million a month in 2026. A Core Villas four-bedroom from about USD 6,000 a month works out at about USD 1,500 each across four people, indicative and set per lease, with a private pool and en-suite bedrooms.

Can four friends sign one lease for a villa in Bali?

Yes. One tenancy agreement, one household, one monthly rate, with one tenant signing and the others listed as occupants, or a company signing for a team. Minimum stay one month, maximum a year at a time.

Is a shared villa a holiday rental?

No. It is a monthly residence on a tenancy agreement, with no nightly pricing, check-in or daily housekeeping. That is the compliant long-stay lane in Bali and the reason it costs what it does.

When should a group book for the dry season?

The dry season runs May to October and July and August are the busiest months. Groups tend to book two to six months ahead for those dates and for December. The waitlist records your dates now, ahead of the Q3 2027 opening.
